you already know how to represent fractionsusing drawings. in this lesson you'll learn to add or subtracttwo fractions using drawings. for example, suppose you wanted add the fractionsone-fifth and two-fifths. to do this, we first show each of the fractionswith a drawing. next, we combine all of the parts together.the first fraction is one-fifth.


How To Add Ruler Fractions, so we want to add one-fifth to our answer. we add each fifth to our answer by clickingon an empty space. the second fraction is two-fifths. so we want to add two more fifths to our answer,like this.


so, one-fifth plus two-fifths is equal tothree-fifths.
