when you get started making games, you needa way to create game art easily and quickly, and you don’t want to pay for image editingsoftware just yet. one great option that i would recommend, ispiskel. piskel is a free tool that i use to create2d pixel art, sprites and animations. piskel is completely free, and open source.
How To Animate Pixels, it’s web based, so there is no need to downloadanything, you can do it all from within your browser. you can find it at piskelapp.com. piskel is a full featured sprite editor, thatcan do almost anything that a paid app can
do, and the developer is adding new featuresall the time. one of the best features of piskel, is it’slive preview of the animations you create. as you edit the frames, piskel gives a livepreview, so you can see exactly what it’s going to look like in game. once you have finished your sprite or animation, you can export to gif, a png spritesheet, or a zip file with each individual frame savedseparately. if you sign up, you can create a gallery ofyour sprites, which you can share publicly, or mark as private, so no one but you cansee them. if you don’t want to create your spritesand animations from within the browser, they
also have an offline version which runs onwindows and mac. the offline version never connects to piskelapp.com,so no one but you will have access to your art. piskel is a great option if you need a freetool to create pixel art and animations. in the next few videos, we’ll take a lookat how to use it, and get you up and running with the app. thanks for watching. if you found this content helpful, pleaseconsider supporting me on patreon. comment, like, and share this video, and subscribe for more tutorials.
