hi i'm laura from youngwritersworkshops.comand i'm going to talk about how to write a grant proposal. i think the most importantthing to remember when writing a grant proposal is that you'll be more successful if you'llfollow the guidelines to the letter so to that end i think the first step in writinga grant proposal is to read every word of the request for proposals. it will give youwhat you need to know about the project as
How To Address A Proposal Letter, well as their specific guidelines. the secondpoint is to focus on these specific topics, the need, the description of your proposedproject and the budget. those are the three standard sections you'll find in most grantproposals and that is the way you are really going to make your case. within the need sectionwe should use a lot o statistics and details
that really illustrate the strong needs thatexists for your proposed project and again in the description of your proposed projectuse a lot of detail. give really specific examples of how you have helped people alreadyin the past and what you propose to do and how it will help address the problem. thethird point is to really include a more detailed budget. the more detailed you can be in yourbudget the more confidence your potential funder is going to have that you know exactlywhat it is that you are setting out to do and you have the practical experience to doit. lastly proofread very carefully. you are asking someone for money. you really wantto show them that you are professional and polished so a grant proposal is very importantto proofread and to polish your work. so those
are the four steps that i think are most importantfor writing a grant proposal.
