hi, this is laura turner and today we're goingto talk about how to write a friendly letter. today we write lots of emails back and forthto each other but we don't usually sit down to actually format a friendly letter anymore.but if you ever do, it's really good to know exactly how to do that. i have here with anexample of the stuff i'm going to tell you today. the way to format a friendly letteris simply as you would form any other letter.
How To Address A Professor Letter, you're going to write your own name and address,in the top right corner. and then you're going to start your letter, dear mary, as it ishere. and then you're going to try to keep your diction formal and your grammar correctand your periods and your commas everywhere that they need to be. rather than if you werejust writing an email to mary and you , you
didn't want to say dear, you just wanted tosay hey, or you just wanted to sort of leap in to what you wanted to say. in a friendlyletter, it's going to be more formal but still friendly. so, dear mary, i am so excited tosee you this year. you're going to actually indent your paragraphs as i've done here.and you're going to put a spaces between your paragraphs to sort of keep it looking cleanand formal. and you should also add your closing remark. a sincerely or a all my best. andyou can also of course instead of typing as i've done here, you can also write your friendlyletter. sometimes if you're actually going to send a letter, it's much more interestingto actually hand write it and sent it. so if you hand write it you will follow muchthe same format as it is right here. so go
ahead and have fun writing your friendly letterand maybe it'll be a change of pace for you.
