How To Animate Grass, the tutorial. here is a quick preview of what we’re goingto do. we are going to take this clip which is in color and turn it into black and whiteand then keyframe it from color to black and white.

first, i am just going to delete this clipfrom the timeline so we can start fresh together. then i will go up to the project panel andfind it and then drag it into the timeline. we need to find the hue and saturation effectso go over to the effects & presets panel and start to type in saturation. there itis. click it and then drop it on the layer in the timeline. the effect then pops up inthe effect controls panel. all we have to do is remove the color fromthe clip. we do this by taking the master saturation property and taking it down tonegative 100. as i drag the slider you can see the clip change from color to black andwhite. you can either drag the slider or type in the amount you want. i will just scrubthrough here and you can see the clip is now

black and white. i am going to place the time indicator wherei want the clip to become fully black and white. then we will go back and put the clipback to color to create the transition. we need to create keyframes for the hue andsaturation effect. go up to the stopwatch next to channel range and click it. that createsa keyframe. if i select the layer in the timeline and then hit u on the keyboard that will showus all the key-framed properties for the layer. let us take the time indicator back a secondand then go back up to the master saturation property and change it to zero. that putsus back to normal. putting this property up to 100 is not what we want and i will showyou right here.
