25-year-old fight ohio is unsealing records on a toppings opening the door for thousands of people to have access to their birth records and vital health information. even though i don't know, you know, what will happen


after i have the information, the choice is kind of mine to do now. sheree: some 400,000 ohio adoption records dating back to 19674 were unsealed this morning.


good evening i'm sheree paolello. reporter: i'm mark hayes. it is a major win for those given up for adoption having a major part of your lives as a mystery until now.


one woman sees this opportunity as life changing. reporter: this liberty township woman is one of several hundred people to came to columbus today for what many adoptees are calling a life-changing


experience. my maternal grandmother raised show dogs and my mother had brown hair. reporter: that is all jennifer hudd had ever known about her biological family. she is about to learn more.


i got really emotional walking here. reporter: into the office of vital statistics, she is one of several hundred adoptees who applied to have her birth records unsealed. rainbow of people.


i'm not even talking just color, like just ages, people from different backgrounds, and we all had this one commonalty which was kind of cool. reporter: adopted at birth hudd grew up in a loving


supportive family. she now lives in liberty township, married with children of her own. i'm not trying to replace anybody, just i don't know, kind of make everything bigger. make my family like one family


bigger. the reason she is anxious to learn the name of her birth mother -- even though i don't know, you know, what will happen after i have the information and the choice is kind of mine to do


now. i would never want to, you know, mess up any of her life, i don't -- you know i don't know what place she is in or she could have other kids, have a family,


that doesn't know about me. there is a lot of what if's. reporter: but there is no bitterness, only admiration. i do, i'd want to shake her hand. i would, i'd want to totally


thank you, because there is lots of other options out there, and i'd want to tell her that i hope the decision she made for me worked out in her favor as well.


while she is not 100% sure what she is going to do once she gets the birth records she says she's fairly certain she will searching her birth mother's name on facebook. in
