going on. because i heard the two gunshots. reporter: the stolen car and its driver ended up at this senior center crashing into an , activities bus, after jumping the curb. the suspect then bailed out and

ran. a foot pursuit ensued through a couple different apartment complexes, ending in the springfield meadows complex. reporter: it's at springfield meadows that he busted into a second-floor apartment.

inside, a man in his four kids. police say the thief tried to hide from them in a back bedroom, and they had reason to believe he was armed, something they would later confirm. police say that given the urgency of the situation, they confronted, shot, and killed

him. one vancouver police officer located a suspect in a bedroom and fired a shot, the suspect is deceased. reporter: that police officer now on leave, it is standard
