we're in our 24th year, the only piecemissing in our life was kids, and we want to foster and maybe adopt but we figured let's getfostering down first. i was terrified at first every time... you never know what toexpect, but then kids get here and everything is just, you know, just fine.this is a vocation, this is not a job, they didn't pick us to do a job, it's a calling. ittook a long time for that to sink in.

with you they were happy. you getattached, get your heart ripped out when they leave. a lot of heartbreak, it's a lot, you cannot sugar-coat that. having these kids come in and thenhaving them ripped out your family and that is a big part of it, but think ofthese kids. if you're not here to foster them, they'll have to go to a shelter. when yourheart breaks you give a little piece of that to that child but it's it's worth it,it's worth all the heartbreak, like i said we've had 22 kids and weonly adopted four, so that's a lot of heartbreak, it's a lot of heartbreak. but whenyou've done something for this child that will change your life forever. "if it were up to you, you would have 22 kids?" we would absolutely have had 22 kids.

initially we just want to give kids asafe haven and we thought short term, we wanted to adopt and and we wanted to givekids a home, we wanted to give kids a lifetime to actually achieve their own identity, to be who theyare, to be kids. every child is completely different from the other. no two of the 22 we've had in the same and you do, you learn from everysingle one and you grow, you grow with that. i would do it, i'd do it again, i'd do it again, if i was reincarnated if there was such a thing, i come back i'm gonna do itagain
