have data roaming switched on. thesecosts and other options can be found on our websiteat www.telstra.com/overseas. using a wifi network when travelling is the best way toreduce your data roaming costs. here's how to do it. go to your settings, tap wifiand find a network. you may be required to enter a password at this stage.you can setyour iphone to automatically remember networks you have joined previously. you canalso forget this network by tapping 'forget network'. turning your emailnotifications on and off while roaming internationally will help you avoid additionaldata roaming charges. here's how you do

it. go to settings, tap mail, contact and calendars, and go tofetch new data then swipe to turn push off. if you can't see the push option go back one step and then tap fetch new dataagain.you can also use the advanced settings to control yournotifications more.to control the notifications you receive from apps, go into the app settings for the specific app you want to adjust. the settings for each app will look different and may change as they're updated. let me show you facebook as an example. check the app settings for either push notifications or notifications. set thepush options to off. you'll need to repeat these steps for each app that has notifications.so be sure to check them all. we also recommend resetting the data usage statistics in thesettings on your phone before you go travelling
