i lost my nintendo 3ds! can i track it? i know that you can install find my iphoneapps on hacked smart phones and have it report via gps where the phone is. thing is, this isn’t an iphone.
How To Activate Iphone Gps Remotely, i wanted to know if there was a similar functioni could use for the nintendo 3ds. open up your cell phone, turn on a flashlightapp and start looking for it. something other than that. before you freak out, check your bathroom, your couch covers, the back seat, anywhere
people hide stuff when they’re mad at you. i have a place to put it, and it isn’t there. it is either lost or stolen. unfortunately, the nintendo 3ds doesn’thave a gps locator in it unless it was one of the 3ds from sears sold after 2014. and the ones that do don’t have good gps. that makes this harder, especially if it can’ttell me yep, its in the house somewhere or no, way over there. actually, just saying yes, it is in the houseis progress.
but i don’t know of any way to access theaccount online and activate the gps function, and many other retailers brag about its bettercontrols or little figuring connections, not gps in later nintendo 3ds models. so what can i do? if you file a police report and request acopy, then you can ask nintendo to give you the games back after calling customer service, giving them the serial number of it and your club nintendo id. i mean a way to actually find the device,if it is possible. after all, it should have a unique ip addresswhen connecting to the internet.
i understand the annoyance since the handheldcosts a fair amount of money. it is the sd card full of save data and gamesthat really annoys me, and i don’t want to file a police report if i left it in someone’scar or house. the hard part is that they don’t have theonline account thing going, so you can’t manage the account to wipe the device remotelyas you can with the find my iphone app. i’ve heard of people using that app to wipethe iphone remotely when they have trouble otherwise restoring it to factory defaults. but that function, if it exists for a nintendo, doesn’t help me actually locate it. the closest thing i can think of is callingnintendo with the serial number to report
it stolen and have them tell you if it connectsto their eshop. serial numbers matter if reported stolen andthen reported by a pawn shop. i might as well tell nintendo the device serialnumbers and have them deactivate my account so the thief can’t use it. then i have to figure out how to reset orreactivate my account. ignore the standard password recovery featureto reset your account; you have to call nintendo customer support with the serial numbers toget your nintendo id account moved. they require a lot of information to verifythe identity to prevent hacking of your account, though if you have a club nintendo account, the serial numbers are there, and i obviously
don’t have the old device to know what theserial numbers of the device are. after they do the migration of your accountinformation, any new 3ds should run like the old one, and you’ll be able to access allthe software again. if that works, then anything i saved to thecloud is also done, though any locally saved data is lost. you’ll be lucky if that’s the only thingyou lose in all of this.
